- Wash the squids and cut into small pieces / slice evenly
- Grind the garlic, half of the onion and chilli
- Slice remaining half of the onion, tomato and chop the ginger
- On a frying pan, add some oil and saute the sliced onion, chopped garlic together with the grinded ingredients, gong until the texture is softened
- Add the tomato, continue cooking for another 5min, then add the bay leaves, lemongrass and the sliced squids
- Lastly, add the seasonings (salt, pepper, chilli powder and turmeric powder) with some water and let it boil till the squids are fully cooked and the water is reduced / thickened
- Once cooked, remove from the stove and serve it immediately with some steamed rice and a dash of lime juice
